I'm not too sure how extensive it is (ie, how much of ACT has burned), but so far 4 people are dead, 400 homes are destroyed and thousands of people have been evacuated from their houses. There are also some fires in Victoria but they are not as bad. Apparently, this is the worst fire in about 200 years.

when it started all of these funny little bugs flew over to Wellington... and they BITE and they ITCH we are supposed to get more and more now..

Sorry about your bugs Hayley! I'm pretty sure the fire won't come near me because its so far away. But they are warning that a similar thing could happen in the hills of Adelaide because of the undergrowth and lots of stuff that fires like to eat. The hills are about a 25 minute drive from the city.

yeah...alot of people are saying that at the begining that they should have burnt down that WHOLE area in a controlled fire then none of this would have happened.

I dunno........ all I know is that lightning started small fires on January 8, which were contained until Saturday. Then all hell broke loose!
