What is up with Cobain beating out Carlos Santana? I hate lists like this, who really decides them anyways?

Tell me about it. What a crazy list. That is as bad as the 100 moments that rocked us. Bill Clinton playing the sax on the Arsenio Hall show in 1992..................Gimmie a break.

Give me a magazine that isn't a corporation.

Give them some credit... the top ten aren't all that bad of choices. The problem is... as soon as they left off tremonti(as they should have), most of the people here consider them a joke.

First of all, Utne magazine
Second of all, maybe you don't remember that RS once dissed Creed (along w/Mtv) until the third album came out. Then they were all about kissin butt.
Third of all, Pleeese don't tell me that you don't think Tremo deserves the credit his talent warrants!!

No when you see Randy Rhoads, and Kurt Cobain where they are, you get tipped off that way.

I don't think after 3 albums and ~6 guitar solos, tremonti is part of the top 100 guitarist EVER. Maybe if he was in a Metallica setting type band where he was able to really exhibit his ability, he might have an argument.

Marty:

I think it's a joke too. The top 10 choices aren't all that terrible, but the rest of the list is pretty bad. And just for the record, I would put Tremonti over Cobain any day of the week as a guitar player, but not as a musician.

I just saw it on the magazine "Top 100 Guitarists". Hendrix is on the cover. True, but they said guitarists, not musicians.
