I think there needs to be a point where people stop reading more into things than is really there. As for Stapp still having it, time will tell. I don't doubt he does, but I think we'll really see when he puts his effort out. Rock on. As for Creed...they're done...start dealing with it.

Well, you tell me what you think he meant? He said Myles was "the best." Tremonti used to reserve such praise for Stapp when Creed was still alive. I think that's pretty significant, especially when it came directly to us from Mark -- he knew he was talking directly to fans. It was significant, I thought. Keep in mind that the band essentially replaced Stapp with Kennedy...

I see it as praise for his current bands lead singer.
And from listening to some MAyfield 4....I'm diggin Myles as a lead singer.

And he's not allowed to think that someone other than Stapp might be "the best"? That would be a slap in the face to Myles to say "I wish I could still be with Stapp, but Myles is good enough" or something to that effect.
It's perfectly natural to want to brag up your new lead singer rather than living in the past. Creed = old busted joint. Alter Bridge = new hotness.

Quite the contrary, dude. I doubt Mark still wants Scott Stapp as his leadsinger.

I think he means ...if Mark said that to MYles, that'd be an insult. I had to read it a couple times myself (Shame Brian LOL).
You two's be on the same page

All I can say is that I'm really curious to see how the critics/radio stations view Alter Bridge...
I'm of the opinion the REAL reason people didn't like Creed was because of Stapp's antics. Now that he's gone, I'm thinking people will warm to AB and judge them based on their music. Just my opinion...

That really is a hard subject to tackle. They should be praised. I just want to see how the critics react once they find out that Alter Bridge has 3/4's the members of Creed.

I don't know, velocity confused me here... I really don't see how praising your new lead singer is a dig at the old one. And even if it was... sorry, but Stapp deserves it. I know this place is very pro-Stapp, but the truth is the guy has some attitude problems and I'm just sick of it.

some critics and stations won't like them simply for the "Former Creed members" tag they'll give them. Some people just flat out didn't like Creed (and some didn't like them for other reasons than STapp).... I think AB knows they have to prove themselves as a new band. They know people will do the "Creed comparison"....and I think they're deliberatly stearing away from that. And yes, a LOT of people didn't like Creed for Stapps antics. Some of those will probably embrace AB faster. Everyone will react in different ways.

I dunno, when you say "this guy is the best the world has to offer," knowing full well he is the replacement for the ousted Stapp... that says a lot in my book. I used to like Stapp a lot when I first got into Creed. I knew his ego was a bit inflated, but I guess I tolerated it back when his lyrics were fresh and his voice was in good shape. After Weathered, both his lyrics and his voice went to crap, and I started to look more at his attitude...

See, I'd buy the "replacement for the ousted Stapp" argument if AB were trying to be "Creed". the simple fact they're NOT totally negates that argument.
