What should Happen

What should happend should they or should they not build on the World Trade Center site? I think they shouldn't but does that mean we let the terriosts win no, there is no winning or loosing it the people who lost their loved ones who you need to ask if they should build and what there tohughts should be. This is what I think.

I have VERY mixed feelings about this. I am leaning towards YES, they should rebuild. It is this big gaping hole in the middle of the city, you can't go by it with out the haunting illusion of "what was there" I think if they "tastefully" rebuild, a buidling and a memorial park area in that area it would be acceptable. I understand that this is "sacred" ground, but really those souls lost there are not "physically" there anymore. NY needs to build something there that reflects the same kind of "spirit" that was there before. A memorial park where those who want to reflect on that horrific day and remember those lost is a good idea. An area with serene gardens etc.. would be good. And also I agree in the fact that if we just leave it blank, what really is that going to prove? We need to show those "demonic terrorists" that they are not going to stop our way of life!

Ok this is my opinion;

YES the towers must be built. they were symbolic to all americas and if we do not rebuild them, it would be a sign of defeat. i do believe that they must be resurected but NOT at 1 World Trade Plaza. thats now and forever will be ground zero. that place is sacred and must commemorate the victims and teach our future and others of this day. keep in mind, they still havent recovered all the bodies, theres still alot of people missing. I would much rather see some sort of memorial park there and then another large structure. i dunno id like too see a park with one stone for each of the victims and then the Iwo Jima-esque statue of the firefighters raising the flag

thats just me

I agree with Jen and Mullet
Yes, it was a sad thing that happened that day, but if we do nothing and just leave that soace empty then the terrorists will have won I think the idea of a memorial park is great and Yes the towers should be rebuilt! It will not only give the families and friends of the victims a place to go to remember their loved ones but it will also be a place for all to go to reflect on this for years to come.

I totally agree with you Jen, even before I saw your post I was thinking that a memorial would be the best direction to take. And you're right-- that gaping hole is like an open wound that never gets to heal.

It's like a chemical peel but it hurts less:P.

I agree, a memorial park would be perfect. And Mullet's right, some of those designs for the buildings were atrocious!!!
