I didn't know that Scott chews tobacco. I mean if he wants to that's fine since it's his choice, but it's not healthy. Also it is really disgusting!

It's a known fact that he has, in the past, had a wad in his mouth alot of the time. There are quite a few pics floating around where he's either got it tucked in his lip or has a spit bottle/container in his hand. His addiction to this stuff is probably a good reason that we often see pics of him singing on televison appearances with a wad of gum in his mouth
Nasty habbit, but I can't say much about it since I smoke and that's equally disgusting...BUT....it would be in his best interest (and everyone elses that does this) to quit because the occurrence of mouth cancer is pretty high among users...and he can't sing without a tongue or a missing lower lip

Scott did a radio interview...I think it was a Texas radio staion...last year...said he had told Jagger he would try his best to quit chewing before Jag started kindergarten this year. A promise to a child is a powerful thing...let's hope he was able to kick it.

Strange...... I've never heard any of that about him. I find it interesting, though, because I've read that he encourages the guys to put any beers that they may be drinking following a concert in a plastic cup so as to not promote drinking (presumably to younger fans). Wouldn't the issue w/ chewing be the same? It's not hard to tell when you've got a bottle w/ groty brown water and chunks in it.

Ewwwww...I had read somewhere that he chews tobacco in lieu of smoking. He said he had to quit smoking to keep his voice in shape...Can't remember where the heck I read that, though.l

It's definitely nasty. I agree that he needs to stop because you can never tell when you'll get cancer of the mouth or throat. Hopefully he doesn't do this too much or maybe even he has stopped now. I think as a singer he should be even more careful about something like that.

So chewing tobacco is lass harmful to the mouth and throat than smoking??
OOOOOOKAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!! I had also heard this before but had conveniently forgot about it. could this be one of the causes of his persistant throat probs and cancelled concerts. |

Both are sick habits. I guess with one your jaw falls off and the lower portion of your face becomes completely immobile; with the other, you sound like you're 97 years old and on a respirator when you're only 36. Lovely, eh?

there are so many lead singers who smoke and they are damaging their voice but you look at a guy like Cornell who can sing almost as well as he could 12 years ago. I hope for his sake and more so his sons that he does stop but I guess its his life and now ours.
