If we all believed that up was up and down was down, you would come here and insist that we open our eyes and see that the reverse is true. You've made a number of broad, sweeping allegations here, basically accusing Steve of being Satan and us of being his minions -- or, in your terms, Steve being the guy who serves the rest of us Kool Aid. I can't speak for anyone else, but I know that I came to my beliefs after 20+ years of searching for answers -- that's why My Own Prison is one of my favorite albums ever. I left no stone unturned in my search. I sought the truth and found it. You don't seem to have done the same. I don't get the feeling that you know any philosophy other than to try and disprove stuff that everyone else believes in. You claim no one else ever questions anything. Why don't you question yourself? Why are you such an asshole? Did you ever think that maybe you don't have to be an asshole? Or that being an asshole maybe "threatens you, controls you"?

You're the one who's sticking unreasonably to a point of view here, not anyone else. What you believe in is supposed to be personal. If you're going into message boards posting threads to try and prove points about what people believe, then you are the one whose soul ain't doing too well. Hearing someone like you or Maynard spout off about allegiance to God in such an overriding sense just makes you both look like 1000x more close-minded than you're accusing everyone else of being.
