This is something Stapp stated in CreedINK magazine Vol.1 concerning the future sound of the band which could occur on the next album:

"With the harder songs (on the Weathered album), we hit as hard as we did for this record, but I have a feeling we may be dabbling into a little heavier sound as far as the music is concerned, because Mark and I are getting more interested in that. When I told Mark I was more into the heavier vibe, his eyes lit up!

That is a direction that we will go in the future."
