Stupid Americans

I was watching a special on CBC today, in which they made a special out of Rick Mercer's segment on This Hour Has 22 Minutes called Talking to Americans. It was really funny (from a Canadian perspective) but really shows how Americans know absolutely nothing about what's going on outiside of their own boarders. Persons interviewed were from San Francisco, New York, Des Moines (Iowa), Nashville, and some others. People were also students and professors at Harvard, Berkley, and New York State University.

Here are some examples:
-- Canada has recently voted in it's first Chinese prime minister, Jean Creitong.
-- Canadian youth are recieving lower scores on tests and have shown decreased ability to identify their state on a non-US map.
-- Canadian prime minister Jean Poutine does not endorse any American political candidate, but believes George W. Bush was the best choice in the 2000 elections to lead America into the 20th century.
-- Americans feel that the Canadian system of voting is much easier. Placing either a pine cone or piece of burch bark into a box for a desired candidate.
-- Americans feel that the idea of Canada forming it's first Navy is not a great idea because since Canada does not have any access to water and would have to store their ships in US ports.
-- Americans feel that it would be a good idea to help Canada fix the polar ice cap that is melting by using a tug boat to push it back into place to prevent a bi-polar Canada.
-- When given the choice of what Canada's new flag should be (finally ending the time of using England's Union Jack) the best would be a hockey puck, when given the choices of a hockey puck, moose head, or maple leaf.
-- The best name for the two months in Canada which are completely dark is Canadark.
-- Canada now has a 5 dollar coin in addition to the 1 and 2 dollar coin. It's called the Woody. To which was said, "Congratulations Canada on getting your first Woody!"
-- It is a good idea for Canada to get it's first jet plane (instead of the traditional propeller plane).

There was way too much good stuff to post here.

Here are some quotes from stupid Americans:
"Congratulations Canada on...
... legalizing staplers."
... legalizing dog's as house pets."
... allowing the Irish to vote."
... allowing women to vote."
... reaching a population of one million."
... preserving the capital igloo in Toronto."
... getting your first FM radio station."
... adopting a 24-hour day."

Once again, way too much good stuff to post here.

In Canada, they just call it ham. :D To be technical, it's called "back bacon."

Oh, and I forgot one of the funniest ones: "Congratulations Canada on becoming part of North America!"

It's true. My mommy told me so. And, by the way, she lived in Canada for 45 years.
