Have you ever met a celebrity?

Has anyone ever met a celebrity before, whether it be a sport icon, actor or music star?
I met John F. Kennedy Jr. in the 90's; I have always liked him. I met him at my university in 96, I skipped all kinds of classes to get in the front when he spoke. Damn that man looked fine in his suit and smelled sooooo good! He shook my hand and I nearly melt, he had that Kennedy charm! He actually spoke to me for 15 minutes, I was in heaven. My friend took pictures but the damn film got ruined, talk about being mad!!!!!

In the casino business I see a lot, but don't necessarily meet a lot. Some have bodyguards. I"ve met Michael Constantine, Pete Rose, Gerry Cooney and Huey Lewis, and have seen Bruce Willis, Stallone, Demi Moore, Howie Mandel and probably a bunch more I can't remember.

luvscott4ever 02-01-2003 11:15 PM

I've never met any, unless you count 12 Stones..My daughter and I met the band at the Creed concert in Cincinnati, they were a bunch of really nice guys!! I saw Louie Anderson once on the parking garage of Bally's in Vegas, I waved and yelled Hi, and he waved back and I UNFORTUNATLEY saw Dennis Rodman at the Hard Rock Casino in Vegas...YUKKY!! I can't stand that guy!! And Iwould swear to god I saw Mel Gibson at our renissance festival a few years ago...He was in his Braveheart get-up and he wasn't just leisurely strolling along, he was moving pretty fast..I thought I was gonna die..and if it wasn't him, this guy was a dead ringer for Mel.

I forgot I met Paul the lead singer from 12 stones in Richmond, he came out on his bike and rode around when us Pit people were waiting outside in the 100 degree heat. He is a REAL nice guy!!! He spent about 30 minutes out there with a group of about 5 of us!:D

hotforscott 02-02-2003 11:40 AM

Ok, I have met Tracey Lawrence, Colin Raye, Kenoy Kennedy, Greg Wesley, Anthony Lucas, Ron Cal Cagne, Corliss Williamson, Derek Fisher, probably a few other people. When I was younger and lived in Texarkana there are a lot of Country Singers who have family there. All of the Sports people are because a lot of them are either from Arkansas or were at a game we went to and had VIP things before the game and got signatures and a chance to meet them. I went to a PGA tournament once to and sort of met John Dailey or whatever his name is, but not really, it was real breif.

Xterminator27 02-02-2003 11:49 AM

I've met Muhamad Ali, Walter Payton (really funny guy), and a lot of race car drivers like Bobby Rahal, Scott Pruett, JImmy Vasser, Al Unser, Mario and Micheal Andretti (there both jerks). I think that completes the list

PaulMcCoygirl 02-02-2003 03:26 PM

I've met......well not really met, more like ran into Avery Johnson (he plays for the San Antonio SPURS) at the Alamo Cafe when we were coming out. I had the pleasure of oopening the door for him and his family. My dad would have gotten an autograph but it looked like he was in a hurry so he didn't want to bother him. My dad collects autographs so it would have been one more to his collection. :) Oh and my brother almost ran over David Robinson of the SPURS because he was chasing after his kid and he ran right in front of my brother's car, luckily none of them got hurt. So David apologized to my brother for doing that. :D

JenRN 02-02-2003 04:22 PM

I actaually forgot...... I did caddy golf for John Daley back in 91 before he got big, he played at the country club I worked at, he was a real LOOSER!!!!! Nasty and rude, and of course wanted more than a caddy, he liked blondes so needless to say I caddied once and I said THE HELL WITH THIS!!!!! I did make $500.00 for 18 holes though.

PaulMcCoygirl 02-02-2003 07:12 PM

$500.00 is not bad! At least you don't have to do it again.

I´ve met Anna Kournikova and Martina Hingis and a few CART and F-1 drivers. Most famous drivers I met are Michael Schumacher, Alain Prost, Ruben Barrichello, Mauricio Gugelmin (not that famous, but my favourite), Niki Lauda and a few others.

I used to go to the hotel drivers stay when there´s the Formula One race in SP, so I could get autographs.

But I really wanna meet Mark Tremonti and Stapp and Flip!

Bridge of Clay 02-05-2003 09:53 PM

I met several bands... most memorable were Nickelback, 3 Doors Down, and The Smashing Pumpkins... Billy Corgan had to have been the nicest musician I have ever met, and the most interesting!

hotforscott 02-06-2003 07:52 PM

Take that Rocks Bec. I liked that one song, how did it go?

I want you back or something like that.

Also, Steve, I love all of those bands. How cool to have gotten to meet them!!!!!!

I was so into them when I was 14. Yeah, the one you're thinking of is Back For Good. I don't think you got much of them in America.....? I was devastated when they broke up. :( At least Robbie is making a name for himself now.

hotforscott 02-07-2003 01:24 PM

Yeah, that's it, back for good. I think I had the CD. I was about 16 or 17 when that song was out, so it was about the same time, I think. They were pretty much a one hit wonder here. Is Robbie the lead singer, I don't guess i know what he is doing now.

No, Gary was the lead singer. He had a few songs out just after they broke up but now I think he's writing for other artists. Robbie has had a few hits out: Rock DJ, Angels, that duet with Nicole Kidman and Feel (someone has this song in their sig). Maybe you haven't heard much of him in the states.

creedchick02 02-09-2003 09:17 PM

I met Jay Leno from the tonight show, he is a real down to earth guy i live in the same area in MASS that he is from, when his mom was alive he used to come home on holidays and on one fourth of july my cusin was in line to get his propane filled at the gas station, well he heard this guy in back of him complaining to himself about the line, he turned to find Jay Leno complaining about being a big shot and still having your mom sending you to do errons, he was only kidding of course he explained he just wanted to get the crowd smiling, and i met him later at his book signing:D
