Before Religion

Christianity and religion went always here you know, so what would happen to the people who lived Before jesus's time or before the 10 commandments?

In which scope are you referring to?

Heaven

Xterminator27 09-12-2004 11:11 PM

Creedsister: please for the love of god dont type with all caps starting every word.

And yes religion separates man, but the problem is, if the indians came over and said, ok now no more christianity and now your hebrew or whatever. Would you do it? obviously not, and neather will they because we are all faithful and trusting to our own religion. so that would be literally impossible to get everyone on the same side here.

And for heavenbeside you
I mean people existed before they knew god, (ancient greek times / whatever) what would happen to them heaven/hell/judgementday/exc wise? especially if they never knew or even thought of a superior god/whatever existed?

;) The answer to xterminator's question is all of those before christ went to abraham's Bosom or if they were truly wicked and did not care were cast into the abyss. But all those that went to abraham's bosom were freed by Jesus going down into the earth and relaesing them from bodage. so picture abraham's bosom as a waiting room and the abyss as hell.

in my view, I would say that, prior to Jesus' death, all people who believed in God and followed his teachings and believed that one day he would send the ultimate sacrifice are saved. so we're talking the Jews of the old testament, God's Chosen People. Prior to the 10 commandments (Noah, etc.), people who believed in God were saved as well. God had rules and all prior to the big 10, but once there was an organized, self-governing (more or less), wandering group of people, they needed set rules to follow. now, strangely, IMO (and I might be viewed as a "hater" or supremacist or whatever for this) the Jews of today are not saved b/c they do not believe in Christ as their savior; they think he was a really great guy, but the savior God promised back in Adam's day is still coming.

God knows

God has always been and always will be xteriminator from the beggining of time. there once was Adam and Eve (A.K.A.) first man and first woman to produce the people of the EARTH. God was never created by man and even if it was a god. it was only an Idol of something that god had made. Also ancient greeks/ stonehenge/ Natives/ Inuit/ African Tribes/ the Macedonians all belived in some way of life which would be there god or Religion that demons use to be worshipped. I am not saying they purposefully worshipped demons but they took praise behind every god such as Zeuss/ or a staue of a winged serpent.

Paul pointed out in a speech that he made at Mars Hill (Acts 17:22-34 or so...), that through the Stoics and Epicurean's own writings, poets etc, God was revealing Himself, giving them a glimpse of who He was. I believe that has been happening all over the world, even back then, cos perhaps "Christianity" perse, or scriptures didn't exist, but since Adam, God has been making advancements to live with us, be our friend and father, creator etc. Perhaps our ideas mixed with the truth and still do, but He was always communicating His existence.

So before the whole organised religion of Jewdaism and Christianity existed, God did, and was at work in the world, revealing Himself.

facelessman 12-27-2004 11:34 AM

the ppl before His time still had to live according to the gospel.
