Creed 5
I was hoping it would come out at the end of this year but alas.
Maybe 2012. What would you like to see in this album? One thing I would like to see is a minimum of 14 songs max 17. I will explain my reasons later :D |
Re: Creed 5
Yeah, pretty much both tremonti and stapp have said it'll be out in 2012. Or they'll atleast meet up in the beginning of 2012. I hope they spend more time on this album. FC was rushed. I would also like them to return to a more Creed sound. Where as FC sounded to much like AB.
I think we'd be lucky to get 14 songs, we'll get 12 at most i bet. Creeds track record is usually around 11 to 12 each CD. |
Re: Creed 5
I agree. I'd like to see a human clay style album. FC was alter bridge with stapp vocals/ solo stuff. I'm guessing an album mid 2012 and a summer tour. I believe there was another song they were working on while touring last yr?

Re: Creed 5
I think it was maybe called "More than this" or it was another song. I don't know. Stapp doesn't respond to my PMs on youtube.
|
Re: Creed 5
I got your back Nagpo, just sent him a tweet. Hopefully he's like Myles and actually responds back to the fans.
|
Re: Creed 5
A lot of times celebs or people of interest have other people tweeting for them. The only reason I tried youtube was because he claimed that he was actually running it. Theres been no activity for months now. Hopefully it really is him tweeting and he really responds. Thanks, TGD.

Apparently Scott said the Creed Acoustic album will be out this Christmas and Creed 5 will be out in 2012
|
Re: Creed 5
I'd be surprised if another Creed album came out. Are they still with Wind-Up? Didn't FC fulfill the WU contract?

Re: Creed 5
Is a self-release out of the question?
Also, I still can't believe that there are people who expect Creed to sound like they did in 2001. How can musicians ignore everything they've learned over a decade? Do you want Tremonti to go back to using the same three chords in every song again or to not utilize his soloing skills? It's really ridiculous. |

And to respond to the latter part of your post, I think people were dissatisfied in part with full circle because it sounded more like an alter bridge album than a creed album. That doesn't mean people want creed to revert back to what it sounded like and not evolve, but they want it to sound like creed, not alter bridge. I've heard some interviews and the creation process was pretty much Tremonti and the band would spend the day in the studio and make some tracks and stapp would come in, take the ones he liked home and write lyrics for them. That's not a collaboration. I would like mark and stapp to sit down with each other and write the songs together like they used to. |

I've never heard of a record label owning the rights to a band's name. It must expire at some point though if that is indeed the case. But what people don't get is that the reason it sounds like Alter Bridge is because that's where the guys are now, musically speaking. The Tremonti sound has evolved into this. What else can they do to make it sound like "classic" Creed than to take two steps back and use all drop-d power chords? I just think fans who are still stuck in the last decade will never like new material done by Creed because it's impossible for it to sound the same. I also don't know what difference to the melodies or riffs would make if Stapp hadn't been coming and going. He never had that much impact on the music, did he? Didn't he always just sell himself as the lyricist? |
Re: Creed 5
Well, if it's just going to sound like alter bridge, then what's the point of keeping Creed around then. Might as well just keep AB going nonstop if it's all going to sound the same.

Where do you think the money for AB III came from? Gotta get dat cheddah. |
Re: Creed 5
to me Creed is something really different to AB and AB will never be Creed and Creed will never be AB. Yes the music (guitar) sounded more like AB but thats because Mark played and wrote it and thats now his wriring style. The music was different for some songs like - rain could never work as an AB song.
To me Creed is alot of Stapp I always feel the passion in his voice and the words realy connect to me, I love the way he writes and no one can do that like him Don't get me wrong I love Creed and AB, Scott Stapp solo and even Mayfield 4 but they are completely different. But to me nothing compares to Creed, nothing reaches me like Creed, nothing has that connection and energy and together Tremonti and Stapp are the best apart they are good. |

I love both AB and Creed... There is no comparison between the bands in my mind. It would be like comparing a panther to a wolf... Both are awesome creatures but very different!! |

Re: Creed 5
I heard on Sirius Octane the other day that Slash had confirmed that Myles Kennedy would be doing all the vocals for his new album, which would start soon. I think this is a good sign for Creed 5 to be sooner than later.

True, but isn't Mark going to be busy with his solo project? |

I thought I had read that Mark's working on it right now, actually. |
Re: Creed 5

that makes sense. So I guess he takes some time with that, Scott finishes up a few shows, and hopefully Creed V gets rolling. |

lol, would we expect anything less from him? |
Re: Creed 5
I have a feeling it's wind-up. They can't afford an album release+tour and so they're making him do a bunch of low cost shows so they can afford it.
He needs a new label. Or just go indie. |

I'd wish we knew what it would take for him to switch labels. It sounds to me that Wind Up is too broke to run the business. |
Re: Creed 5
It's interestingthe Wind Up label lists its roster and includes, "the entire Creed repertoire". It doesn't list that for Seether or any of the other bands. My guess is the "repertoire" is too valuable for Creed to switch labels.

Re: Creed 5
Just in case not everybody saw this, Mark's Facebook fan page posted this video interview of him and Brian talking during AB's last festival show. One of the questions was about what they've got planned and they mentioned their managers trying to get with Scott's for both a tour and potential new material for next year. So it is still on their minds apparently.

Good to hear, thanks.

Re: Creed 5
This is good news. You'd think they'd just be able to call Scott and talk to him though. Weird.

I disagree sir. When they were talking about the new AB album it was always "yeah i talk to myles last thursday in december hes coming to my house and we're going to do it". I'm just a bitter Creed fan haha. Oh well im pumped for both of them. I just wish it was 1999 I guess. |
Re: Creed 5
Maybe they aren't that close.
|
Re: Creed 5
They probably aren't that close but also, it's likely the business side of it that they have to get out of the way first. Maybe they already talked themselves and know both sides want to do something creatively speaking.

Re: Creed 5
FC was great and yea sooo different for Creed, not as many epic ballads as their previous work but FC sounds soo good. already 2 yrs since its release. Bring on the next one!! :)

Re: Creed 5
Just messing around with Final Cut Pro :)
