This was posted on the Submersed board yesterday. Needless to say, I'm stunned:

Submersed is sorry to have to announce a change to the band. We have made the decision to part ways with our beloved guitar player Eric Friedman. We know that this is the right decision for Submersed and Eric. We came to a point where we had to face a few things and felt that it was something that had to be done while there was still time for both sides to move forward. This was something that happened and that Submersed has become stronger for. No new member will ever be added to the permanent lineup, this is it. We know that feelings may vary and understand the shock and confusion but both sides have moved on peacefully,

Thank You

Yea that's nuts. Submersed won't be the same without him. I wonder what Eric is doing now?

I don't know, but I hope he stays with music. I thought he was a really good guitarist.

he's an amazing guitarist!... and only like 20 or something like that now. it's too bad, although i mused to myself how just a week or two ago how it had ever worked out that tremo essentially took this prodigy he'd worked with & thrust him into a band that was already together

From what I've heard DC is suffering from LSD. (Lead Singer Disease. Aka "The Stapp Disease").

It's a shame Erock is leaving, 'cause he was the star of the band!

yeah.. it is a shame Erock is leaving.
Submersed's next album just wont be the same..
Hope Erock keeps with the music.

Yeah, there was lots of speculation about DC and the ego crap, but we really don't know what happened. I wonder if it's just creative differences, too. Who knows? It's just a shame because Eric added a lot to the live shows, I think.

i dunno about any of you who saw 'em live w/ AB, but, from my pov, erock seemed to be the most active guy out there for the 6 or 7 songs they played, bouncing around to different parts of the stage, interacting w/ fans, etc.... he was also hanging out w/ a couple o' chicks after the show, talking to fans @ the same time

Yes. I saw them open for Creed on NYE in 2002 and they all looked so nervous and Eric barely moved, but he was playing his heart out and did a great job. When I saw them again with AB, they had really found their stage legs. Eric was much more confident and seemed to be having a great time up there. I really hope he gets another band together.

Yeah, I saw them open for AB at the HOB in Anaheim CA. I thought Eric and the lead singer came off very chummy.

Too bad though

Yeah, I don't think Eric and Scott would mix well.

Would be like Mark and Scott again! :D 'Cause Mark and Erock are like brothers!

how 'bout Mark, Eric, and Myles...three guitar attack...overkill and unlikely...but could sound cool and different...hopefully erick can found a band that suits his needs, he is a good up and coming guitar player...

Wow, that's really too bad. Eric is a fantastic young guitarist with a ton of potential. Here's hoping he either forms a new band himself, or latches on to a band that will allow him to do what he does best: play guitar.

And if there wasn't a connection between Eric and Mark, I definitely wouldn't mind seeing Eric join Stapp's "band". It would sure beat the pawn shop guys he's got now.

if DC allegedly has a problem w/ someone stealing his spotlight, something tells me stappy & erock hooking up wouldn't work out all that well....

i know!
maybe he could join AB!
